Thank you for purchasing Spark for Ricoh DTG. In the series of steps that follow, you will be guided through the process of downloading and installing the software. The Spark for Ricoh DTG Design Software is comprised of a set of linked applications: the Administrator, the Library, and the design software. This document details the steps for installing these three components, and then activating (“validating”) the software package.
In order for the software to function properly, it is essential to install the components of the package in order. Please click the bubbles below for full installation instructions.
System Requirements
The following are the requirements for installing the Spark Administrator and Spark Library.
•Genuine Intel® Pentium® 1 V, dual-core computer (or better).
•Operating systems - either: Windows ® 8 2 (32 or 64 bit) OR
Windows ® 7 (32 or 64 bit) with Service Pack 1
Important: For installations on Windows 7, note that Spark for Ricoh DTG will operate on the Home Premium edition (or higher); it cannot be installed on Home Starter and Home Basic editions.
In addition, the installer will check for the following components. If any of them are not already on the host computer, the missing components will be installed automatically.

Installing the Administrator
If the Installer does not launch automatically, browse to “Spark for AnaJet Installer.exe” and run it.
You see the InstallShield Wizard “prerequisites” window.
Note that the order is crucial here - the Administrator must be installed before the Library.
wMicrosoft® .NET Framework 3.5 1 When the prerequisites have finished installing, a new Installshield Wizard installer screen will open.
On some computers, these prerequisites will already be installed; in this case, the preceding steps will be omitted.
You see the License agreement page.
You see the Customer information page.
You see the Database Server page.
9)In the “Connect using” field, leave “root” as the Login ID; the “Password” field should be left blank. You see the IIS (Internet Information Services) installation page. The Installer will check that the correct version of IIS is installed; if it is not, the Installer will install it now.
While the IIS installation is proceeding, you will see a “spinning” cursor. Do NOT click any button during this time. When the IIS installation is done, the Spark Administrator installation will proceed automatically; you will see the InstallShield “Ready to install” window.
When the installation of the Administrator is complete, you may install the Library and the design software. Return to the Spark Installer to install these components. Note that the order is crucial – the Administrator must be installed before the Library.

The Spark Library installs the products, fonts, and images that come with the software.
Wait a few moments while the necessary files are extracted.
You see a new Installshield wizard window.You see the License Agreement window.
You see the “Setup Type” window.
You see the Ready to Install the Program window.
Wait while the files are installed; when the installation is complete, you will see a new Installshield window.
The Installshield wizard will close, and you will now have access to the files in the Library through the Spark Administrator.

2)You see the “Installing Spark” window, which shows the progress of the installation; please wait while the files are installed. You see an “Application Install” screen.
wInstallation location (defaults to C:\Program Files (x86)). To browse to a different location, click the folder icon. You see Adobe AIR License Agreement window.
The Adobe AIR 3.5 component will be installed. When this installation is complete, Spark will open.
You will receive update notices for the Adobe AIR software from time to time; these notices are a normal part of the software upgrade, and you should accept the upgrades.
Activating Spark
The software needs to be activated in order to be used. To do this, you will need an Activation serial number.
The following procedures outline the activation processes.
Activating Spark automatically via Internet
To activate Spark automatically with an Internet connection:
You see the Activation screen.
You can also go through the Activation immediately after completing the Administrator installation, when prompted to do so.
Activating Spark without an Internet connection
If you have installed the software on a computer that does not have an Internet connection, you will need an activation code (in addition to the serial number) to complete the activation. You will be able obtain this code by contacting your distributor.
To activate Spark without an Internet connection:
You see the Activation screen.
You see a warning message; the message will tell you that the activator is not able to connect to the activation server.
The Activation dialog now has a new field for the activation code. You will also see a Site ID number in the Activation wizard dialog.
6Contact your distributor. Give them your serial number, as well as the Site ID number that is now displayed in the activation dialog.
